Additional details

Sail Date: Sep 2005

This was the sixth cruise my wife and I have experienced and it was by far the best in almost every way. On reflection it was the attention to small detail which appealed in many instances - the stateroom storage space, the clothes hangers, the cleanliness throughout, the canopy and decorative rails at the gangway, the quality of the tour guides, the smiles of each and every crew member, the helpfulness of them all - it all added up to a memorable trip.

The big plusses for us were the size of the stateroom and balcony which were larger than we had experienced previously and the excellent quality and variety of the food in both the Lido and the Restaurant. The ship had an 'up-market' aura about it without becoming ostentatious, partly due to the crew's diligence in cleanliness, and, although the average age of the guests was somewhat high, the Cruise Director and his staff managed to retain a very relaxed attitude amongst those on board.

If there was to be a criticism, it lay in the standard of entertainment - not, I hasten to add, because it was below par, but it failed to reach the heights of some of the production shows which we have enjoyed on other ships. The standard was still high, however, and the artistes and the entertainment staff are to be congratulated on their non-stop activities.
