The cruise on the Carnival Liberty was exceptional in every way. We booked the airlines through Carnival and arrived in Rome on time. Carnival reps are there to meet you and everything was very organized. We had signed up for a 5 hour tour of Rome and after retrieving luggage and giving it to Carnival we were off to the Vatican. The tour was good - Rome was hot but enjoyed the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's. After the tour we headed to the ship. Embarkation was efficient and we were on the ship within 30 minutes.

We arrived at our table for dinner and found some very unfriendly and set in their ways people. After dinner we requested a table change and the Maitre D was able to accommodate us. We saw more of the Maitre D on this cruise than any of the other 13 cruises. Food in the dining room was always very good and we had great service.

We had booked all of our excursions online 4 months before and all of the tickets were waiting in our cabin that first night. We were pleased with Carnival excursions and they were generally well organized. We took organized tours in all but 2 ports and the shore excursion desk was not much help if you didn't book through Carnival. They couldn't answer basic questions and in some cases gave wrong information. Need a little more time in Europe.
