Embarkation was so easy. We have cruised with Carnival several times in the past and Princess has this down to a science. It took us about 45 minutes to get from the door to our cabin! We had as mini suite on the dolphin deck. It was beautiful. We enjoyed the wood trim and crown molding! The balcony was huge but we had one that was uncovered. This was a bit problematic because people from above would throw down their cherry stems and cigarette ashes. Honestly, this happened daily! The people above us had the half covered/half uncovered and that would have been perfect.
We loved the personal choice dining. We never had to wait for a seat and we usually asked for a large table so that we could meet lots of people. The dining room food was pretty good but I prefer the flavor and seasonings in Carnival's menu. The food was often to bland for us. The buffets were just o.k. most nights but on the seafood nights they were outstanding!I made the mistake of eating breakfast in the buffets for the first few nights but when I finally had breakfast in the dining room, it was great. The problem was that the dining room closed at 9:30 a.m. so we weren't able to lounge in the mornings.
The islands were great as usual but St. Maarten was spectacular for us! We went to a beach that was breathtaking there. We were not at all impressed with Princess Cays. That is all I will say about that since I've read similar reviews about that stop.
