Infinity - Alaska

Sail Date: August 2005
Destination: Alaska
Embarkation: Vancouver

This was a very special cruise as we travelled with our children, their spouses and their children. There were 23 of us in total with 12 children under the age of 11. We had 3 babies under 3 months, 2 at 2 years, 1 at 18 months, 1 at 3 1/2, 1 at 4, 1 at 6, 1 at 9, 1 at 10 and 1 at 11.

We were treated royally. The maitre d', Victor, helped us sort out the dining tables, as we were split up among other couples. So by the second night we were all together and french fries were at the tables for the little ones as soon as we sat down. We were really pleased with the dining room staff and how they handled the babies and small children.

Some of the older children participated in the kids program and were really happy. We hardly saw the 6 - 11 year olds at all. The 4 year olds were a little more apprehensive to stay in the programs, but as long as one of the aunts or parents were there they had fun.

The kids program also had toddler afternoons, where the smaller More children could go and participate in programs as long as they were accompanied by their parents.

We spent a lot of time in the pools and hot tubs, and ate dishes and dishes of ice cream.

We ate at the first seating and most of the adults and some of the children attended the shows. We sat in the back of the balcony and I don't think anyone there knew that we had babies and small children.

The photo department did very well in getting everyone to smile and so it made our family portrait something that we will cherish for a long time.

If you are travelling with children, we recommend Celebrity. Everyone, from the room steward, room service, kids program, photos, to dining room staff made them welcome.

It was a great event! Less
