"What a long, strange trip it's been" wrote Jerry Garcia. I think he had us in mind! We were originally scheduled to leave on the Sensation out of New Orleans on a 5 day Mexican cruise. For obvious reasons, not to be! Carnival helped me change my cruise plans AND flight plans with no penalty with only a 5 day notice. (I made my flight plans personally) I can only praise them for this effort.

On Cruise day, we had an orderly embarkation process and got to our ocean-view cabin (M57) by 1:30pm. It was clean and ready to go. As with all Carnival cabins, very large with nice bathroom and shower facilities. An added bonus was that our luggage arrived around 3:30pm.

Nice cruise past NASA into the Atlantic. Our first stop the next morning was Freeport, Bahamas. This is where we met tropical storm Ophelia. It rained in sheets. Running from our in-town base of Isle of Capri casino to various shops...we got drenched. The shops, naturally, had air-conditioning at full blast so we were freezing. Oh, well! Can't control the weather.
