The terminal in Baltimore is very convenient and efficient. Embarkation was not difficult. One problem however, no one seemed to have luggage tags so you have stop to get them issued before entering the parking lot. In my case traveling with 5 people, we had to unload our car to put the tags on in the rain. We paid $90.00 to park; make sure you have cash as it's the only acceptable method of payment. Our luggage was delivered to our rooms quickly. The ship departed the dock on time.

There were 5 in our group, 3 adults 2 kids 10 & 17. We had 2 rooms; one balcony and one inside. Both rooms were nice and comfortable. Bathroom shower a little on the small side but manageable. Cold water was not available in the bathroom-save your melted ice for cold water! Our cruise seemed to have more kids than adults on it. RCCL prides itself on its children's programs but it didn't hold my 10 year old's interest. Kids are permitted to sign themselves out of the program at anytime with their parents permission to do so. Most seemed to do so. Kids were everywhere on the ship. The only exception was the promenade deck which was consistently quiet and comfortable. Even the bars were taken over by kids. The Viking Crown Lounge was a hangout for kids during the day; late night you have to be 18 to get in. It's not that I don't like kids, but there were no place to lounge around quietly. Stairways seemed to be a favorite hangout as well. Even the adult pool area called the "Solarium" was filled with kids because the pizza and burger snack bar is, for some unknown reason, located there.

Food was plentiful but not always available. The Windjammer Buffet closed twice during the day and for good by 9:00 pm. If you wanted a late night snack like ice cream you were out of luck, unless you want to pay for Ben & Jerry's. The pizza and burger snack bar was open until 3:00 am. The pizza was not so good- (think Chuck E Cheese!) and the burgers overcooked/dry. The main dining room is beautiful. The food is good but not great. Portions are small but we were free to have seconds. The service was good but our assistant waiter was also helping other waiters so it wasn't perfect. It didn't help that an adjacent table came in late every night which disrupted our waiter's rhythm. Our waiter made recommendations every night, they know what is good and what is ok, by the middle of the cruise I learned to listen. The Windjammer buffet offered many choices. A carving station during dinner & lunch that was good and the omelet station during breakfast was also very good. The Windjammer is a mecca for those with a sweet tooth. You'd be hard pressed not to find something to your liking in the Windjammer.
