Overall: I enjoyed my first Alaskan cruise with the Sapphire Princess. I have cruised previously twice, both with Carnival, and that is pretty much be my standard for comparison. This trip was to be our delayed Honeymoon trip. Husband and I are both 29. The average age in this particular cruise is definitely over 45+, not as many kids, and all of them are well-behaved.

Embarkation: Arrived at pier 30 10:45am and found a decent line already formed. Also noticed that people were still disembarking from the ship. The whole process took about 1.5hrs. Luggage arrived after we came back from the buffet, they had put it inside the room for us. Met our steward, Danny and Christ, who had been nothing but terrific through-out the whole cruise. A BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!

Cabin: I read numerous reviews about the some of the balconies being exposed from the upper decks and had opted for a carib level balcony (huge!) room which is only partially exposed, c617, also right across from the laundry. We didn't bring too many clothes since we had to pack in layers, so we wind up doing laundry 3 times. Detergent and fabric softener are $1 each/load. Washer is $1, and Dryer is $1/20min. They do have a quarter machine. Plenty of closet space and we were able to store our three pieces of luggage right under the bed. Beds (two combined together) were firmed, just the way i like it. The shower stall is quite small, and the counter top has plenty of space. They do have a fridge with ice, replenished twice a day by Danny and Christ.
