We sailed on the Caribbean Princess 8-13-05. My husband and I were married on Embarkation day in the Explorer's Lounge. As a bridal couple, embarkation was a breeze...we were escorted aboard between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. to prepare for our 1:00 wedding. The coordinators from The Wedding Experience were on the ball! Shortly after our ceremony began, others began arriving on the ship and watched the ceremony from the bar in the back of the lounge. One note though, Princess forgot to block off the side entrance, and people kept walking into the "side" of the ceremony.

The reception In the Skywalker's Club did not go as smoothly. Apparently, there was some poor preparation on Princess's part. The DJ did not have a working microphone for the announcement of the bridal party. Our wedding coordinator projected her voice to announce the bridal party. When our first dance song should have been played, the DJ played the bridal announcement party song, in spite of being provided with an itinerary of what to play when. On top of that, he did not play any music beyond the 6-7 songs we provided for the "special dances". He even played one song at least 4-5 times consecutively! Needless to say, by the time he figured out that he was to play other music, our reception was ruined. All he had available musically were cheesy one-hit-wonder songs from the '80s. If you are thinking of getting married onboard, see if you can have your reception in Club Fusion instead. There, they play disco and funk from the 70's...at least the music might be better. It's also on the same deck as the Explorer's lounge, which makes for less travel for your wedding guests. Princess did come through with a sizeable room credit though...apparently they were as mortified by the screw-up as we were. It did not make up for the lost memories however.

Our photographer, Jennifer, was wonderful. She took some AMAZING pictures. It's worth the $500 for the digital CD of your wedding pictures, shipboard prices for pics are outrageous. We saved a ton of $ by doing our own!
