We decided to take a Cruise with Carnival for our Honeymoon. We went back and forth about which ports and where they embarked from. We went with the Legend because of its proximity to our home about an hour. My mother & father-in-law took us to the boat. It took about 45 minutes to get to NYC and about 30 minutes to get up 12th Avenue to get to the boat.
Upon our drop off at the pier a porter was right there to take our luggage. We went in the pier and the Carnival employee directed us to a line. We were in the 3rd line from the left. The middle was a sitting area and once we had got into line the line filled we were half way down. People were really getting upset that the line was taking forever. My wife and i knew that we were getting on the boat no matter how long the line was. We were at the pier 30 minutes prior to wait. we thought it funny when people were cutting lines and jumping into other lines. The first people that arrived were in the 2nd level seating area, and of course they went first, no problems there. But people were getting very upset. Once we cleared the line we went through the security area and then to the Fun Pass line. That line took no more than 20 minutes.
We had our items checked and then we made our way to the boat, stopping to get our pictures taken and to our amazement the people that had but in line in front of us, were now quite a way behind us!!!!!! We went to our room to drop off our carry on bag and made our way to the Lido deck for lunch. We decided to check out the Spa for a couples massage. We struck a deal for later on that afternoon since we had not even left port. We went to the Life boat Drill then up to a relaxing hour. Other than feeling a little oily after we had a perfect timing to go watch the skyline of NYC & the Statue of Liberty.
