I used this site to plan my July 24th cruise to Alaska so I felt obligated to share my thoughts. Keep in mind it was our first cruise. We have many friends that love cruises but it just wasn't for us.

That said here are our impressions: Price: It is not like going to an all inclusive resort. So if you are a first time cruiser prepare to spend a lot of money on things besides your ticket: drinks (soda or alcohol), good coffee, food in port and excursions.

Food/Drinks: If you went to a restaurant that didn't have a service charge the food was mediocre at best. Once you eat at one of the places that charge it is hard to go back to the "free" restaurants. We ate at Cagney's twice. The food was as good as any expensive steak house in the states. The service was excellent and we felt it was worth the extra money.
