So I got a cruise for Christmas. This was my first cruise and I had no idea what to expect.
Boarding was fast and easy - amazingly fast and easy. I wish the airlines could bring this type of boarding back.
Food was al around very good and enough to stop eating for a year. Service was amazing as well. The lines at the Mongolian Wok were way too long. We gave up to wait.
The room service knew our names within minutes on board. Amazing. The cabin (R5) was big enough, the two small port hole windows were nice.
The look and feel was like an older Las Vegas hotel from the 70s.
Most venues had plenty of seats left. Their Punchliner Comedy Club had two comedians on board. Mike Macy was funny, Lewis Nixon was not our style. The other shows we visited were cheaply produced party style or karaoke quality shows. I was not impressed with the shows. For some reasons, I expected a little bit more. The magician "MeToo" was like the old kid next door. There are so many good magicians out there in the world. "MeToo" was technically good but had no charisma. I have no idea why Carnival picked him.
The photographers were a little bit annoying as well. But if you switch from a nice outfit to a lousy T-shirt, it seems like they stopped asking you to take pictures.
The smoking areas were to close for my feeling to main areas. So it was very annoying when you pass the smoky casinos. But at the end, we should probably thank all the players for financially keep the cruise prices low.
Nassau was nice. We just stayed at the little free public beach behind the Hilton and the frog bar. It was great for an afternoon nap. The water was still too cold.
Debarkation was easy and fast. We took just carry-on along, so we were out fast.
So would we go again? We would probably try another ship. But we first have to loose 5% body fat ... ;)
