Sailed on Pearl out of Miami on 2/10/2013. Embarkation was easy, on board by 12 and room was ready. We do mini-suite to get a bathtub, makes the bathroom and shower space much larger. First thing noticed is that cabins on 11 in middle of ship have very large overhang that blocks almost all sun except at early morn or late afternoon. Overhang also has vertical beam that hangs down from above. This causes any noise or conversation from adjacent balconies to echo back. We occasionally had very loud talkers on adjacent balcony. I would avoid these cabins next time. Move down to deck 10 or lower, or go aft or forward.
Food was very good in main dining rooms, we do not do the premium restaurants.
We are casino users, and had the free drink cards. Bar service in casino was very bad. They seemed to go out of their way to avoid patrons. Casino also raised minimum on some machines last few days of cruise.
Had issue with billing procedures. We had a $175 credit, but did not realize on board credit did not apply to daily gratuity fees. Daily check of account did not reflect this, the credit was applied to total bill. But the final bill charged us for the unused credit we didn't know we had. To be consistent, daily bill check should have shown credit unused.
Those were the negatives, but overall it was a wonderful cruise. Did the Duns Falls in Jamaica, Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman was very nice. Jamaica was ruined by aggressive peddlers at every turn.
