Where to start? Um, didn't appreciate the local folks at the pier yelling at us as they took our baggage. We were trying to figure out where to go and what to do and there were people that grabbed our luggage from our hands and got in our face and told us to move it... Embarkation went smoothly. Got on board around noon but didn't get to our room until after 2pm which we expected so had a nice leisurely lunch as we waited.
I am not sure what they renovated recently as we couldn't find any NEW decor. Seasoned sailors say that rust is a ships worst enemy and it our stateroom and all over there appeared to be a lot of rust. On some decks we saw them just paint over the rust.. Sad...

We had a balcony room on the 8th deck portside. Ok, but kind of small. There was a glass table that took up a lot of room in our room and didn't think to have them move it out.
Food was ok. The Sunday brunch was excellent and then everything after that went down hill. Unlike other ships where More you could serve yourself, here on this ship in the buffet line you had to point to what you want and they, the server, would grab a plate and give you a spoonful. We got the beverage package and you couldn't get more then 1 coke at a time. We tried to get 2, 1 for lunch and 1 to take back to the room and they said no. That I would have to come back after I finished the first one. That didn't make sense.

Evening entertainments was kind of poor. There were not many things to do on board that interested us such as the games etc. The evening dance party band was most excellent. Xtasea I think was their name.

Excursions were kind of poorly. We signed up for 1 tour that was touted as a tour of the island on St Marten's and all our driver showed us was the low income housing on the island, then he made 3 different retail stops to stores that we all didn't want to do. We wanted to see the island. But no...

Will we do the Caribbean again? Probably not. We live on the West Coast and I think we have decided to go to the Hawaiian Islands for r and r.

Also, on the last formal night, we were eating at a table that people in the Penthouse Suite were at and the husband asked if he could have an extra helping on some food and they told him no. Customer service was lacking in a lot of areas of the ship. Too bad. This was Celebrity's chance to impress us. They did not. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Summit

Room too small. Had to walk sideways around the room. Bathroom was nice size. Plenty of drawer space. Would have liked an outlet in the bathroom as the lite at the desk was too dull to be able to do hair, makeup etc.. Sheets were old. Missed having towel animals on the bed. Bed took up the whole room.
