Hi we stayed at the Double Tree Bahia Mar hotel on Ft. Lauderdale beach for 2 nights prior to the cruise very nice hotel and excellent location 15 minute cab ride to port. Embarkation- We arrived at Port Everglades around 2pm check in was quick and painless!
Cabin: We were in cabin E307 obstructed O.V.on Emerald deck, the life boat goes up about one fourth of the window but still lets in plenty of light. plenty of storage and a small shower. The bed was very hard so ask for egg crate mattress cover.Overall very pleased.
Food:As we all know this is subjective but over all we thought it was very good.We had a table for two in the Botteceli dining room with excellent service. The International cafe was a great place for a snack.Princess pizza is the best at sea.The pub lunch had yummy fish and chips.
Entertainment:Overall there was a wide variety of shows, the typical singers and dancers, jugglers, magicians, love and marriage, quest etc.Our favorite was movies under the stars, the waiters come around with blankets, popcorn, pizza and milk and cookies yum.
Ship:We loved the layout of the pool decks they feel very intimate with 4 pool areas being separated from each other. Our favorite was the aft pool with a view of the wake.Even though the ship was to capacity there was always a lounger to be found somewhere.
I'm sure that I left many things out, but overall we had a very nice time on the Ruby Princess an would sail her again in a heartbeat!
