We, my wife, 12 year-old daughter, and I, met up with our friends, husband, wife and 2 boys ages 14 and 11, from Arizona and set sail on June 19 for what was to be a great and fun cruise. But it wasn't great....just ok.

We had a guaranteed inside cabin so our original luggage tags said "TBA." I had read that if you wait at the porter station they eventually could give you the tags that would apply for your finally assigned cabin. We finally found out we were cabin 4124 Deck 4 forward. With that, the porter had us fill out the appropriate tags. We then proceeded to the Queen Mary for advance check-in. Since we had arrived before noon, we were told to wait in "Zone 1" outside.

Embarkation went smoothly ...we got in to find that the ship was totally sold out. We tried to get in our room only to be told rather surly to come back later ...it wasn't ready. So much for creating a good first impression! We all then went up to Mermaids Grille for lunch ....lunches up there were the high point of the cruise. My daughter has never eaten so much breakfast and lunch before in her life. We were amazed at the plates of food she would come to the table with.
