Just got off the Carnival Freedom today after 8 wonderful days! The food and service were excellent. We ate breakfast and dinner daily in the main restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of the meals. The buffet area had lots of choices-fish and chips, international, a Mongolian grill (my favorite), carving station, hamburger and hot dog grill and lots of others.
Our interior cabin was small but well appointed with a comfortable bed, clean linens and yes, sparkling towels, Cabin service was great. There were 3 closets and a set of drawers on the vanity.
We enjoyed the shows and entertainment.
Both embarkation and debarkation were smooth and quick. Our luggage was in the room within 2 hours of boarding. We walked off the ship at 6:30 am and were done with customs and outside by 6:45.
The ship's decor is a bit funky with lots of copper and odd wood and snakeskin wallpaper but heck, it's a fun cruise ship-does it need to look like a luxury palace?
My only complaint was smoking under the pool deck roof-the smoke got trapped and was choking. Also, smoking is permitted in one of the inside bars-the Swingtime Lounge.
