After reading some of the unfavorable reviews about Thompson Majesty, obviously written by people who have been on too many cruises, I feel I have to write and complement the entire crew and staff of this well run, clean and friendly ship.
This was our second cruise, after cruising the Eastern Mediteranian on Thompson Celebration in November 2011,we got the cruise bug.
We booked the Canarian Flavors Cruise on the net back in June and chose an outside cabin on deck seven, the Promenade deck.
The flight from Bristol, the transfers and boarding all went well,we were welcomed on board and taken to our cabin, which although slightly small was very clean and tidy,we had no problems and the stewards always had the cabin spotless and tidy whenever we returned.
The dinning in the restraunts was excellent although we did have to wait for a table on one occasion, the waiters and staff were very good as was the food.
The on board entertainment was first class especially the show team and the resident band.
We went on several excursions which were well worth the extra expense, the guides were very informative and we learnt a lot about the various destinations and had some very enjoyable days. Our idea of a cruise is a chance to see some different parts of the world and not just lie on the deck sunbathing all day, perhaps some of these people who complain all the time spend too much time on board, most of the tours we went on were not very well attended.
The Magesty may be a bit old with a bit of a checkerd history but we wouldn't hesitate to cruise on here again.
