We chose this cruise for the destinations, and to experience Celebrity Cruises.
Embarkation was smooth and we didn't mind the 3 hour wait for our cabins.
We economized and chose an interior stateroom for this cruise and found it to be clean and well appointed. We were impressed with the size of the bathroom. Would have appreciated a Guide for the free movies.
The ship was well appointed and very stable and my husband had no hint of the seasickness which sometimes affects him. The Celebrity Theater was never full so everyone could get a seat.
We had second seating dining in the Metropolitan Dining Room (main dining room). We were usually happy with our food and if not, it was swiftly replaced.
Upstairs in the Ocean-view Cafe it was usually quite easy to find a table and the food offered great variety.I found it easy to choosy tasty healthy food.
The staff were almost always friendly and service was very good as is the usual case on a cruise ship.
The ports More
were a big disappointment to us because all bar one required a tender service, and Celebrity got this totally wrong. When you have 2,200 passengers to fit onto 4 tenders holding 100 and the trip time is 45 minutes, then only the obvious will happen. Tours had priority but were still late leaving. To be fair they tried to rectify the problem by hiring local tenders to assist, but even so,in Lombok we stood in blistering heat and then torrential rain for over an hour, and in Bali we waited standing in line, for 2 hours.
Disembarkation was smooth and hassle free. Less
We loved the Bird Park and Orchid garden, but not nearly enough time was allocated. Lunch at the 5 stat hotel was delicious. Independence Square was a waste of time because after traffic hopping on foot in searing heat we couldn't hear one thing the tour guide said. We had 15 minutes at the market instead of the advertised 1 hour.
