TIPS FOR THE CONQUEST TRIP:

Embarkation: They do a very good job of getting people on board. There will be 3000 guests so be patient. There is a very good chance that your luggage won't arrive at your room until 4-5 p.m. so ensure you carry on all essentials including toiletries, medicine, and an extra set of clothes. We arrived by bus at 1 p.m. and were on board by 2 p.m. After talking with several guests, I am not sure there is a special time that avoids any lines.

Once on board-first day: Get busy. Pick up your "free" lanyard for holding sail& sign cards. They can go fast. Buy your "Fountain Card" and Carnival thermal cups if needed. Buy only 1 fountain card and share with another person. This will be a savings of over $40. Get a map of the ship and start getting a feel of where everything is at. Avoid the SPA and WORKOUT areas the first day. They will rope you in for a tour and take up your time. Get a good feel for decks 5 and 9. At your room, hunt down your steward. Introduce yourself and tip the person a few bucks. This small gesture will go a very long way. Inspect your room thoroughly. We were missing a very nice stool. Others in our group were missing robes, room service cards and other amenities. It may sound odd, however, check under the bed for overall cleanliness. It should be spotless. The last thing you need is garbage, tissues and other gross stuff here. All our issues were addressed immediately. Kudos to Carnival. And yes, under our bed was very clean. The first day goes by very fast and you will find yourself at dinner before you know it.
