Ship Facts: Carnival Triumph Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Triumph Deck Plans
Carnival Triumph aft balcony cruise cabin #8435.
This was our 16th cruise and our second 5 day cruise on the Carnival Triumph. We are both in our 60's and love to travel. We drove from Northwest Arkansas to Texas City and stayed two nights at the Hampton Inn. This was our third time to stay there. It is less expensive than staying on Galveston and only 10 miles away. We spent one day exploring Galveston taking a tour of the historic areas, seeing the Aquarium Pyramid at Moody Gardens, eating at Landry's and just sitting on the seawall staring at the gulf.

We boarded Triumph on 2/2/13 and were excited to see our first aft balcony cabin #8435. This cabin was the highlight of our cruise. The balcony was extra large and had 4 chairs and 2 tables. Being above the wake of the ship was awesome.

We had been to Progreso before but had gone to Chichen Itza which is a great excursion. This time we decided to explore the town. We took the double-decker bus tour which was interesting but returned to the ship when it was over as we had no desire to walk around town.

Our second port was Cozumel which really looked beautiful after Progreso. We booked the America's Cup Sail Boat excursion and had a great time! Two retired racing sailboats compete and use passengers as crew members. Lots of fun!

The Triumph is an older ship but is still in good shape and well cared for. Her crew was friendly and eager to please. The entertainment was good. They have a good magician and the comedians are excellent.

Our last night out we hit a storm during dinner. The wind was strong and the ship leaned several times and then really leaned over - dishware and glasses hit the floor dramatically! Water from the aft pool poured out and down to deck 8 - we had some wet carpet. Very exciting!

This was a relaxing cruise for us and we had a great time. Debarkation was handled well and we were off and in our car by 9 AM. Love that aft balcony!
