We were a group of 8 ( 4 couples ). My Wife and I had cruised this ship and itinerary last year for our first cruise and talked the other 6 first timers into making the journey this time around. We had a blast!! Because of our group size we pre-booked My Time Dinning which worked out fantastic for us and our schedule or lack of schedule whichever way you want to look at it.
We had planned to book a Gold Wine Package when we boarded but found that the All Inclusive package had been added to the Monarch 2 weeks prior so for the $ 440.00 per couple we had all we could want and no worries at the end as to what the bill would be. NO BRAINER!!
We had 4 cabins on deck 7 forward starboard side of the ship with a FANTASTIC room attendant Chokey!! Our companions were amazed at the efficient use of space and the cleanliness of the cabin. Chokey was Great, he always used our names and had our rooms ready each afternoon and evening. The girls loved the towel animals especially the bat and monkey!!! Dan, the My Time Dinning reservation manager was terrific. The whole Claude's Dinning room experience was amazing. Roy and Jayson our wait staff were friendly, helpful and so efficient. The service on the ship was great but the cabin and dinning staff especially deserve kudos!! As far as the Windjammer it was good , we only had 1 breakfast and the 3 lunches, all fine and good as far as a buffet is concerned.
The Coco Cay beach lunch was I felt very good with lots of selection and quality meats, salads and fruits etc. For us Coco Cay was simply a beach day with my prepaid drink card and my snorkel set I was in heaven!! Snorkeled for about 2 1/2 hours in total in 2 sessions. 6 sighting of sting rays and an approx 4 ft barracuda!! Lots of other fish as well.
Nassau was a morning in the jewelry shops and afternoon tour with Brenda-Lee Hepburn both excursions were of great value!! Met Brenda by the scooter parking and gave us a great 2 hours ride in her 2012 Hyundai van ( she's very proud of it as she should be ). Saw all the good and the bad of Nassau. Look for her, you won't go wrong.
The shows on the ship were good. Comedian was great, Love and Marriage show funny and we were too busy cruising to see the rest. This was a training cruise for us and we passed and are looking for some higher cruising education next!! Thanks RCL and Monarch of the Seas for a great start to our education!!
