Ship Facts: Thomson Celebration Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Thomson Celebration Deck Plans
Celebration - Red Sea Magic
Flight Luton to Sharm then embarkation very smooth -although my suitcase was completely battered in transit and was replaced with a new one within 2 days by Thomson.

Our party of three ladies over 50 we booked a three berth and here begins our first problem. Two of us ladies could climb the ladder up to top berth but neither of us could get down as there were no handles/rails to hold onto. We offered to pay more to upgrade to a more suitable cabin - none available. Head of housekeeping came to our cabin and watched us try to get up and down and agreed the bed should have rails or handles and said they would ask the ships carpenter to come up with a solution. By midnight still no solution and so we lifted the mattress onto the floor for the night, we were told that was unacceptable for health and safety reasons and we argued it was was for OUR health and safety where we would feel safer on the floor. No sign of a carpenter by day three and gave up with housekeeping therefore, whole seven nights spent with mattress on the floor. Not to mention having to step over mattress as floor space is very limited.

Entertainment very good - especially live band in Liberties

Food very good - waiters excellent

Bars and Lounges - very good

Trips well organised - expensive/long days but worth every penny

Sunbeds/seating/deck area - very poor only managed to get a SEAT once on deck

Noisy and vibration - how can this ship become platinum?? the vibration is constant and unless you sit in a certain area in the dining room it's like sitting on top of a spinning washing machine trying to eat!

No sign of the dreaded virus and members of staff were on duty to sanitise hands in and out of food areas. Good job as you see plenty of people who never wash their hands after using the toilet!! Handrails constantly being sprayed.

Annoying to find guests booked last minute paid £100-200 less and upgraded - why don't they upgrade those that paid upfront early?

Check in at Sharm - BEWARE we had 7kg hand luggage allowance on our form, they disregarded this and said 5kg we had to pay IN CASH 400 Egyptian pounds (we had used all our cash up) no ATM machines available inside secured area. Thankfully a very harassed lone Thomson rep helped by asking the guards to let us out to use ATM machine. Not a nice experience.

Holiday overall would not book Celebration again due to noise and vibration.
