CARNIVAL DESTINY = PURE GARBAGE!
Destination: Western Caribbean
The cruise that me (and ALL the other passengers) booked was to Half Moon Cay, Nassau, and Grand Turk.
At the last minute Carnival changed the itinerary to Key West (anyone can drive there) Freeport and Nassau. Their reasoning is that the "ship was broken and they were unable to parallel park" (this is not the passengers issue and they should do maintenance on the ships with all the money they make.
EVERYONE was enraged at the last minute change (especially since the ports they went to were junk).
All Carnival offered was a $50 onboard credit, which was pitiful. So basically they floated around Florida area saved all the expense of the fuel to go the extra distance to Grand Turk, they pocketed the money that everyone payed, they changed itinerary to ports that were closer and used the "ship broken excuse"
Carnival also works the staff lik slaves. I spoke to several who said they were working 14 or 15 hours a day. Whats ridiculous is that you may have More someone working in the kitchen or hospitality during the day and at night they are playing an instrument in a bar. It is disgusting how they treat the staff there. The only thing good about the entire cruise was the staff and their friedliness.
Also in Nassau they had a problem with the thrusters so departure was delayed (Yet again).....the food sucks an is the equivalent of Lubys or some other cheap buffet (but you cant blame the staff, they dont have anything to work with.)
BOTTOM LINE : Carnival is nothing but a rip off and garbage.
I called cuatomer service and they all they said was "There will be NO further compensation" and then hung up. Spend your money on a REAL cruise line an skip all the trash that is Carnival cruises. Less
