Ship Facts: Vision of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Vision of the Seas Deck Plans
Good but not up to date!!
We are a couple in our early 40's and were on our 5th RCCL cruise. We choose this cruise on the Vision of the seas mainly because we want 9 or 10 days cruise and the offer for those longer cruise is very limited.

We arrived in Fort-lauderdale the day before on a direct flight from Montreal. We usually do not fly from Montreal and I had a good reminder why when we got to the airport!!!

Beside beeing very costly to fly from the Montreal Trudeau airport ,it is just a plain nightmare.

We got there 2.5 hours before and barely made it for the boarding of our flight. Long lines for security and us customs made it an endless process. Much rather drive 1.5 hours and leave from Burlington , Vermont wich we usually do (half the price and much easier)but schedule issue made it impossible this time.

Stayed at the Cambria suites and the place was nice and located near a very good nice little cuban restaurant where we went for lunch.

Embarkation was very smooth. We got at the cruise terminal at 11:20 and by 12:00 we were having lunch in the windjammer. The room was ready by 13:00

We always get an inside room and we know what to expect but this time it was a little different. The room was the smallest we ever had. Bathroom was also very small and the shower is made for minature people. It has a curtain and is just not up to todays standards.

The good: the crew was just awesome and service was also very good. They want you to have a great vaction and they make it happen.

Food was very good and there was always many good choices in the dinning room. Gloria our waiter was very nice, efficient and should be considered for a higher position du to her hard work.

Food in the windjammer was also very good and there was always something we

liked so no complaint again on that side.

Room attendant Juan was very nice and also efficient.

The not so good: the ship itself is an older ship and it shows. It's clean but it will really need a major refit within a near futur. It's showing some problems here and there that are not major but you know how competitive the market is. I hope that the refit scheduled for next fall will include an overhaul for the staterooms to first make them a little bigger and also to improve the bathroom.

We love R.C..C.L and like the way they do business but they need to re-think the events they have onboard. Most of the games/ game shows have been on for ever and something new and up to date would be great.

Entertainement was good and we enjoyed all the shows.

The crowd was older and the staff adapted to this fact wich we understand but it was sometimes a little boring on the ship especially after 21:30.

The disco party lasted 25 minutes and that's it!!! Not at all comparable with what we have seen on other rccl ships.

Ports were nice as usual especially when you are escaping the cold Quebec winter like we do.

Getting off the ship was also very fast as we did the express walk off.

A nice but not great cruise mostly du to the age of the ship and lack of energy onboard. The ship needs a serious refresh to stay an attractive one. The market is very competitive and for the same price you can get get much better accomodation.

Still a very good value and it's always nice to be treated like kings for 10 days.

Please forgive me if there is some mistake in my review, my first language is french.
