This was our first cruise and it was my fiance and myself. I have contemplated taking a cruise for many years but I am prone to severe motion sickness and was always afraid of being stuck on a ship and feeling awful. I decided to book a short cruise for our first one to see how I would do. I am happy to say that motion sickness was not an issue for me at all even though our first night onboard was a bit rocky and some people were feeling ill. I did take a Bonine tablet before boarding but that was the only time I took one.

We loved everything about our first cruise and can't wait to go again. I was a little hesitant about the Fantasy after reading some less than encouraging reviews but we were quite happy with everything. Yes, the ship is older and showing some signs of wear and tear but that's to be expected. However, all areas of the ship are clean and the crew was constantly cleaning and making repairs.

My only complaints were that the bed was a little hard in our cabin, but I understand that Carnival is in the process of changing the mattresses on all their ships. The other complaint was that the elevators were extremely slow but we just took the stairs more often and the exercise was good for us considering it felt like we ate around the clock.
