Staff attentive and responsive
Ship brand new - very enjoyable except for creaking stateroom noises at night from the propulsion system. Crew were in denial in not wanting to acknowledge that the ship rumbles when turning due to side thrusters at rear which are used for steering.
Dining room great fun - would have liked a variety of wine rather than the same red and whilte offered for lunch and dinner for 15 nights....wine was included in cruise price. This was obviously an incentive to encourage passengers to bring their won wine on board at every stop....no restrictions re this.
River ccruising is lots of fun. We enjoyed not having shore time completely booked up with pre-arranged excursions unlike other cruise lines which charge much more....thus making you feel compelled to always be on an excursion when on shore....we enjoyed having free time for us to ramble about the river towns...and we met other passengers doing the same and became great firends due to this.
Encourage river cruisers not to hussle back to the ship for lunch but take advantage of the unique eating experiences offered in the various towns along the river...doesn't cost much and it breaks the routine of dining room eating for brekkie, lunch and diner.
Well done Viking - we will cruise again with you in the future.
