Inaugural Cruising on the Breeze

Sail Date: November 2012
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

Left out of POM at 8pm instead of 4pm...quite a delay. We were having so much fun in port that we barely noticed it. Always things to do on the ship. Many hot tubs for relaxation as well as Serenity area. BIG SCREEN on Lido deck for entertainment day and night. Very friendly staff.

Grand Turk has a wonderful beach. Curacao was very colorful and had the floating bridge experience. Aruba had helmet diving. We didnt get to see Dominican Republic. However, Health and Safety of passengers is the #1 priority of Carnival. We experienced that in a life/death situation en route to Dominican Republic. We had to turn the ship around to airlift a passenger to get medical treatment. Hopefully that all ended well. As we missed that opportunity to dock in DR, instead we had a FULL day in Curacao.

All good times on the ship...food is awesome...kudos to all kitchen staff. At bfast burritos at the Blue Iguana Cantina everyday...they were so delicious. You could only get More Jimmys BBQ on C-days hence the VERY LONG lines. We recommend either getting there at the VERY beginning or waiting til it's almost time to close so you dont have to stand in the hot sun in a long line to get a dish of food. Waterworks was so refreshing. Give yourself a BIG push if you go down the slides. I just about slowed down in both of them cuz I didnt push off the right way. The pizza place line was long too. Yes, they make all the pizzas to order, but listening to people in line...you know your most popular pizzas so just keep making them. We just want to grab and go. The Tandor was open late night and had really good hot dogs and cookies. The deli made paninis to order and they were pretty fast. Guys Burger joint was interesting...not your average burger, but oh so tasty. You got to put your own toppings on them. They dont put too many french fries on your plate, but will give you more if you ask them.

Parties on the Lido deck sponsored by the Blue Iguana and Red Rum Bar were fun but only lasted about a half hour which seemed to short. Pictures all turned out great. Oh and the Piano Bar was fabulous! Spent many nights with Ron Pass, the Piano Guy...laughing and singing and have so much fun. Liquid NightClub was just okay for us. Balcony room view was good too. A little different than on past ships...it overlooks the Lanai Deck so you can see people in the hottubs and in line for Jimmys BBQ. We usually just see the sea. Overall a good time. Not so sure we'd sail on the Breeze again. It was VERY KID oriented. Less

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! The experience in itself was GREAT! They give you all of the instructions...You feel like you are walking on the moon! Took about 20minutes. We werent allowed to use our own underwater cameras because the company said they'd take pictures for us. We had our camera too. After all the underwater smiling and beautiful fish swimming in our faces we went to purchase our pictures at a reasonable $39. THEY FORGOT TO PUT FILM IN THE CAMERA!!! UGH. We didnt have time to dive again and I was a little whoozie from it, but we didnt get any compensation for it at all. Very disappointing. The lagoon was very refreshing. The water park there looked just like the one on our ship too. Good time overall. They do have SMALL lockers you can pay for to put your personal items in it. Hot day...didnt need a towel to dry off. It rained while we were under the water too. We found that out after we came back up. Oh yeah and you take a Ferry across to the island. It is worth tipping the guys a buck or two.

We got to Curacao at 8am instead a 2pm due to a change in schedule. So we had a full day in Curaco. We were able to get off and on the ship at our leisure. We spent the day walking around and shopping. The Floating Pontoon Bridge was cool. We actually got stuck on it as it opened to let a ship pass. You dont get that experience every day. Souvenir shops were kind of pricey. We went back to our ship to eat and then got off at night because we were told the lights at night were awesome. That was not our experience. We did have a full moon which made for excellant photos. The pontoon bridge was not lit up and it was just so so. Actually some of the vendors actually closed up shop at night so if you didnt get what you wanted earlier in the day (like by 4pm) you were out of luck. A watch store was actually scraping their name off the glass! Diamonds International WAS NOT OPEN at all. The name was on the bldg but all closed up.
