We won this cruise so we figured we'd better use it. Before this cruise I never imagined I would enjoy one and I think the Carnival Ecstasy was probably not a great choice for a first cruise. My wife was excited for this cruise and ended the cruise not that excited.
Despite this boat being remodeled a few years ago ... it's like the saying you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.
The room: Very Small, but maybe that's typical.
There was only two electrical outlets total and one was above the sink facing down so all the plugs would fall out, so essentially just one outlet. The bed was comfortable and there was enough clothes hangers. The bathroom was small and felt like an airplane bathroom. Disappointed by no refrigerator.
Food: We did the any time dining and never had to wait longer then one minute to be seated and a table for two. On the one dress up night we only saw two men with tuxes. The food was good, but not great. You never get free sodas at any time which was a disappointment. The dining room felt like a college cafeteria.
Boat: The mini golf course was unoriginal and boring. The pool was extremely tiny. There was only four hot tubs that comfortably sat about 20 people total. With 3,000 passengers this is simply not enough hot tubs! So you'd see 15 people trying to fit into a 6 person hot tub. The main cruise manager who MC'd the announcements and Hasbro games was very rude. Telling people that their stomachs were so fat that they couldn't see their privates. The comedy shows were absolutely terrible, they were simply not funny and extremely rude toward guests. The Motown and Brits shows were pretty decent but only lasted about 45min total. The waterslide was freezing and it cut up your back. Overall we were bored out of our minds on this boat.
