Left The Snow For Sunshine

Sail Date: January 2013
Destination: South America & Antarctica
Embarkation: Rio de Janeiro

We booked this cruise last May when we were on the Middle East cruise. We were really happy to see the ship was still decorated for the Christmas holidays. Beautifully decorated. We also were very impressed with the new carpets, paint colors and paintings. It made for a calm relaxing feel while walking around the ship on sea days. This cruise seemed to be a cruise (" Ask and you shall receive"). We heard this statement so many times among other passengers. We also asked for an upgrade and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get a cabin upgrade. This will go down as one of our favorite cruises. The staff was great. They treated the Cruise Critic members on board with so much attention and accepted our request to reserve a couple tables at the White Night Affair which was really appreciated. The meals were all fantastic, ask for a certain cereal for breakfast and every morning it was handed to us. I just wish the delicious energy drink we drank every morning could be delivered at our More home.

Our flight reservations went off without a hitch, waiting in the Tango Hotel for most of the day gave us an opportunity to shop more (giggle giggle). It also gave us a chance to visit with our new friends longer and visit more places in Buenos Aires. We had booked private tours in a couple ports and was really impressed with the service and guides. My only complaint. Hated the high walled tub in our cabin, it was really hard to get in and out of. But so many employees remembered us as we did them, to many to mention but they are all great. Thanks Azamara for a wonderful cruise. P.S. Don't like the color of the Hull. Less

Cabin review: Azamara Quest Club Continent Suite Eight 8070

Our cabin 8070 experienced noise early morning hours as it is below Windows Cafe Patio, so chairs being moved caused the noise. Other times it was noticed but not as bad as early morning. Felt the veranda table and chairs were nice but to large for the area. Had plenty of closet space for us anyway. Cleanliness was great also, butler service/attendants were very good at what they do and friendly nice and helpful. Our only complaint was the tub walls were way to high to make it safe and comfortable getting in and out of.The bed was comfortable and the linens we actually liked better than the larger heavier ones in the bath area we have had on Azamara. The cabin was simple yet elegant and fit us fine.

Port and Shore Excursions

Loved the days we were in port at Buenos Aires. Had a walking tour that was fantastic. The retaurants were great and Tango dancers so much more.

We really were not impressed with this port.

We boarded the ship there. There were several other ships in Port that was receiving new passengers also so it was a bit of a wait getting on board, but once on board the greetings and wine /champayne was great.
