Warm getaway

Sail Date: January 2013
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We like to take trips to warm weather locations during the winter months, I found a great deal on this sailing and we had a good time. We enjoyed Aruba and Curacao, but really disliked Princess Cays. We like to go off and do our own thing rather than hanging around the crowds, so that may be why we did not enjoy that port, the other two were enjoyable and the weather was beautiful. We both really enjoy the dinners and other meals where the staff serves you. We never went to the buffet except one day when we were in port. It is so nice to be taken care of and the staff did an amazing job especially when you consider the amount of people on this ship!

This was our first Princess cruise and we think they do a very good job, the food quality is very good and the service is also very good. I have to say that our personalities are more in line with our cruise on Holland America, that was probably our favorite, we are quiet people and shy away from the loud sports, movies and music More that was blaring on the open decks.

The one "complaint" we had was that there were very few quiet places to go and read a book, unless you paid extra for the sanctuary area. We did end up going to Sky walkers lounge on the 18th floor in the aft section to read and enjoy the view. Less

Cabin review: Caribbean Princess Interior Double Plaza A741

We liked the layout, large mirrors make it seem bigger. Quiet, but a bit more movement since it is in the aft section, but that never bothered us. Overall in good shape.

Port and Shore Excursions

Really beautiful beaches and friendly people. We took the public bus out towards the California lighthouse, this bus stops at several beaches and you can just hope off and enjoy the one you like best, then when your done go hope back on, they run every 30 minutes. Be aware that taxi's and other unofficial "buses" stop by trying to get you to take a ride with them, we waited for the real bus.

Very pretty town and we had fun walking around and exploring enjoying the 80 degree weather in shorts and sandals in January, you can't beat that!

We did not enjoy this port at all, just not our taste, many others seemed to be having fun.
