Carnival Destiny Cruise Review by deardude: Mixed bag - some good, some bad experiences
Mixed bag - some good, some bad experiences
We did a 5 night Bahama cruise out of Miami.
Ports - Nassau, Half moon cay (cancelled), Grand Turk
Room - Had an awesome wrap around balcony which was very spacious. Room size was decent, but I was expecting bigger considering it was an upgraded "mini-suite".
Ship - Some parts look and feel very old due to age of the ship. But overall, it was grand and nice.
Food - Average to below average quality. Long lines at buffet, and really long waits at the dining room, missed a lot of shows/activities due to that. Server was not very friendly. They did go out of the way to accommodate my son's alllergies at the kitchen. Desserts and cock-tails were awesome everywhere.
Ports - Went to Atlantis which was great. Highly recommend the Aqua-venture pass. Half moon cay was cancelled due to rough waters which was a bummer. Grand Cayman was excellent as well, took a taxi and went to a beach away from the cruise ship which was a lot less crowded.
Cruise activities - One of the More big production shows (Las Vegas style) was cancelled, another bummer. Other music shows were OK-ish, nothing special. Great comedy shows. Pool area was happening, OK casino. Overall, not a whole lot of things to do to spend the day. The day when Half moon cay was cancelled got boring at the sea.
Room service - Excellent service, room was cleaned up multiple times a day. Free to order food from the menu. Less
