The ship is beautiful from the public rooms to the cabins. We stayed in a PH2 suite and it was well worth the price. The bed was wonderfully comfortable! So much so that one hated to leave it for breakfast. We had breakfast several mornings in the cabin and the butler service left nothing to be desired. In fact, the housekeeping staff kept our suite in top notch order as well as being polite and friendly. The service in the entire ship was above average except for two locations. One was the cruise sales office where we were interested in booking another cruise, but the personnel there seemingly didn't have the time for us, so we left. The other problem area is the Pool Grill. One must find a table before going to the counter to order your food. When it was very busy (for instance, when the shore excursions returned after the MDR and the buffet lunch were closed), it was almost impossible to do both. In addition, some of the staff were quite rude. And unfortunately, the food was not worth the aggravation to eat there. Next time, we will use room service for that kind of occasion. However, the food in all of the other dining venues was bordering on the spectacular. Jacques and the Red Ginger were our favorites, but the afternoon tea was much appreciated by my husband who is originally from London. My only complaint is that the servings were too large and interfered with enjoyment of their great Desserts like Creme Brulees. About the entertainment.. The cruise director Nolan made us enjoy the various shows that we attended with his great wit. The singers and dancers are quite good ( somewhat reminiscent of Tv reality talent shows) and their enthusiasm more than compensated for their level of expertise. Suffice it to say, we enjoyed every performance. All in all, my husband and I will cruise again with Oceania with no qualms about their shipboard experience. We are trying SilverSea on our next cruise, but I am sure we will return to Oceania in the future.

Cabin review:

penthouse 2 suite on deck 11 - beautifully decorated with lovely bathroom and amenities. The bed was outstandingly comfortable and the balcony was nice except for the overhanging ledge which the entire deck 11 has.

Port and Shore Excursions

Due to a torrential rainfall, we were unable to take a catamaran excursion, but we did manage to buy some chili peppers to take home.

We were scheduled to take a humanitarian tour to give school supplies to the local children, but out tour guide did not show up. However, two young men escorted us on a private tour around the island to find an orphanage to give the supplies to. We learned a lot about Roatan's history and their desire to become a British territory. Definitely a place to visit!
