Majesty delivers

Sail Date: January 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Miami

I'm always amazed how different people can have mixed reactions to a common event. I am happy to give the following review of the Majesty.

My wife and I flew in the day before and stayed at the Holiday Inn next to Bayside adjacent to the cruise docks. Bayside is a great place to spend a few hours and they have free outdoor entertainment every evening. We enjoyed a salsa band the night before the cruise.

We had the smoothest embarkation of any of our cruises. We arrived shortly before 11:00 A.M. and were eating in the Windjammer by 11:30!

RCL advertises the rooms would not be available till 1:00 P.M. and they do have their access blocked. We had our luggage available even before the rooms were ready. They place them in front of the elevators nearest your stateroom for you to retrieve.

Our room while small had ample room to store all of our belongings. We chose an outside stateroom and enjoyed a large window letting in natural daylight. Our More stateroom attendant was top notch, servicing the room according to our schedule. We only saw her the first and last day of the cruise.

We ate in the Starlight dining room at the early seating. Our waitstaff were attentive and made us feel like we were in one of our favorite restaurants back home. We ate in the Windjammer for lunch and breakfasts. We were surprised how much choice there was in the Windjammer knowing this is one of the smaller cruise ships in the RCL lineup. We never had any problem finding seating regardless of the time. We ate at Sorrento's a couple times for pizza late at night. It would have been nice to have more available then, but the pizza was good. We agree with a previous reviewer, the coffee served in Windjammer was very good.

We opted to do our own touring of Nassau taking a water taxi found alongside the pier over to Atlantis ($8.00 round trip) to see the casino and shops there. We missed Coco Cay due to rough seas but the staff printed out contingency activities less than an hour after the captain's announcement. We used the time for running on the promenade deck and reading in the lounges. We did take the bicycle tour of Key West and had a great time. Well maintained bikes and a great tour guide Steph made the day.

We are ballroom dancers and were pleasantly surprised at the venues available for dancing on a ship this size. While we danced in the Centrum (very small dance area) we were impressed by the size of Boleros and danced there several times to both a Latin band and the ship's orchestra.

The crew on the Majesty are proud of their ship and made us feel at home. We enjoyed our time on board and will remember it fondly. We enjoyed our trip so much that we booked a fall foliage cruise this coming September to take advantage of the on board credit offering.

The Majesty exceeded our expectations and keeps RCL one of our favorite cruise lines

We chose to carry off all our luggage and we were off the ship before 7:30 A.M. and were at the airport before 8:00. Less
