We have been cruising since 2008,and have cruised with other cruise lines. There were a number of things on these 2 cruises (back to back )that have caused us to never ever book a Carnival cruise again.
The worst part was the food, now imagine being on a cruise for 14 days and having basically the same menus for breakfast and lunch, a few different items but not many, and dinner well that was a big disappointment, imagine hamburger, mac n cheese , a meat loaf with no taste, steaks that were always tough, more like institutional food rather than cruise ship food. The one thing that was good in the dining room was our servers, they were wonderful.
The entertainment was also lacking, no show on the first night of sailing then only one show at 10:30 most other nights, not a great show when it was presented. We have cruised with 3 other cruise lines and all of them had 2 Broadway type shows each night, one for early seating and one for late seating, far superior to Carnival,
this cruise line needs to take a long hard look in 2 main areas, food and entertainment. The cabin we had was very good and the ship was clean and well maintained.
The ports we visited were all good, some better than others, but generally very enjoyable, we did make the best of our cruise and do hope we don't encounter another one like these, we thought there was no such thing as a bad cruise, however Carnival proved that to be wrong.
