We had a good trip with Spirit weather was dry not always sunny but warm in Madeira and Canaries. We were very surprised when we couldnt get in to Lanzorote, but this was cancelled for safety reasons ordered by the port bec ause of the heavy seas and wind around it. We were not too bothered as it was a beautiful day and enjoyed the sunshine (when we could get a lounger. These were in short supply.) Some passengers seemed to think they owned the bed for the day. There needs to be much more supervision by the staff to ensure this doesnt happen. We went on the Grand Princess and there was a deck steward to supervise this, and remove articles and towels after a reasonable time. The shower area in the cabin was spacious with a sliding door rather than a curtain which prevented any splashing on the floor. The staff were exceptional in service and courtesy and this was consistent throughout the ship. The shore excursions (which we do not use)were not as exhorbitant as on other ships. The outstanding feature of this cruise was the credit we received for not docking at Arrecife(Lanzorote). Not the amount, but the fact that it was given. In all our cruising this is first time this has happened for non docking. NCL must be complimented for this customer relation factor, and we look forward to using NCL again, especially after this.

Cabin review: Inside

Good roomy shower area, quiet cabin on deck 9. Comfortable bed. TV sound not too clear. Captains announcements not clear, when Staff Captain gave announcements these were perfectly clear.

Port and Shore Excursions

There is a great deal of building work which means there is a lot of walking when off the shuttle bus to get to town, watch your pockets when crossing the road as we nearly lost our wallets.
