Amazing Royal Caribbean Experience
Destination: Western Caribbean
The ship, Jewel of the Seas, was phenomenal. Although we had chosen the interior stateroom, it was well-appointed and had more storage than many of our more expensive cabins in the past. The steward, Fitzmorris, was very helpful in answering any questions and making up our room as soon as possible.
We also greatly enjoyed the rest of the staff. When we boarded with another couple, we checked out our assigned dinner seating. It was not our preference, and we immediately contacted the headwaiter. He helped us by giving us a window seat in 'My Time' dining, as long as we arrived early, which we did. We were fortunate to have experienced staff, Peter and Jesus serve us expertly and quickly every night. The food was exceptional, compared to other recent cruises. I only wish the escargots were available, but that More is the only regret.
Our days were filled with exploring the many fun things to do on the ship. The mini-golf was good for a laugh and we enjoyed watching people climb the rock wall. Maybe next time we will actually try it! The solarium area pool looked so inviting, and we were never early enough to grab a seat, but hopefully next time we will.
I really enjoyed the cinema, even though the projection was a little fuzzy, due to the main projector not working. The films were all new to us, and quite entertaining.
The dinner shows were exceptional as well. The cruise director, Dennis, was charming, friendly and a talented singer, too! The show selection was spot-on. We truly anticipated great entertainment every night, and were not disappointed. The Versatility Duo played in the Centrum and the Safari Lounge. They came and talked to us during their break, and not only are they musically very talented, they are a very nice couple. My husband has the same guitar as Ursula, and they compared notes on that. We looked forward to their every performance.
Another kudo goes to the Windjammer deck. The food, staff, selection and cleanliness were superb. There was never a long line. There were waiters who brought us drinks, which is new for us on the buffet deck. It was lovely.
Even the disembarkment was a breeze. We opted for expedited service, and were off the ship in 15 minutes after arriving at the appointed place.
Thank you for helping us have the most wonderful cruise. This was our first Royal Caribbean experience, and we are planning to make it our favorite place to 'shop'. I look forward to having more enjoyable cruises with Royal Caribbean! Less
