What a GLORIOUS Cruise!

Sail Date: December 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

Overall: I was very pleased with this ship! It was kept up very nice, the staff and crew were friendly, and the places to eat were exceptional! For deciding to spend the Christmas holiday away from the family and on a ship, i have to say we made a great choice! Our destinations were Mexico(Cozumel and Costa Maya), Belize was cancled, Honduras, and the Cayman Islands. Being in cozumel on Christmas day was extraordinary, but besides that cozumel is a great port to get some sun, relax, and even learn a lot about different cultures! Every other port was just as fantastic, so much to do, so much to see! But of course what matters the most, is the fact that we LOVED getting back on our ship everyday knowing that every night there would be something new and fun to look forward to! I honestly could not complain about anything!

Food: This was my favorite part about the cruise! They had so many options every single day to choose from! Burrito bar(My personal fav), pizza place, subs and More panini's, GUYS BURGER JOINT(which is da bomb!! *watch out 2800 calories/burger*), Fish and Chips, different buffet menu every single day in the red sail restaurant, the dining room which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has IMPECABLE service, and last but not least the steakhouse for dinner with reservations! Everything. Was. Delicious!!!

Staterooms: Luckily, as a past guest (Gold Member) they voluntarily upgraded us to a spa deck balcony stateroom which was to die for! Huge sliding glass door instead of just a door and a window leading out to your balcony, and there was no roof/cover above us which was great for sun bathing or looking up at the clear, blue and beautiful sky! The room was kept up great, more than enough space to spread out and relax, and the beds were very comfy as usual! Such a great relaxing place to come back to after a long tiring day in your destination port! (For those who never book balcony staterooms, i sugest you try to, makes the world of a difference on your cruise vacation!)

Entertainment: The activities on this ship were very creative i must say! For our christmas cruise, they had plenty of shows dedicated to the special holiday, and even had snow, carolors, along with santa clause on the ship chirstmas eve! The shows were so-so, but the parties on the lido deck were phenomenal! The DJ on this ship is great, he knows what to play and knows how to get the party started. As for the days at sea, mostly everyone either shopped or hung out by the pool. Of course there was a party by the pool all day long, so drinks and food were everywhere to be found. The casino was also a great place to do some not-so-serious gambling, if your looking to just have some fun! Other than that id say the days at sea on the Glory are pretty relaxing, but the nights spent on the Glory, are nights you will never forget! Less

Cabin review: Carnival Glory Balcony Panorama

Plenty of space, great balcony, close to everything!

Port and Shore Excursions

Unfortunatly, this port is sort of in the middle of no where on the coast of Mexico. To me, its more of an "excuse" kind of port, just somewhere extra the cruise lines have incase another port gets cancled, which in this case Belize did! Costa maya was a bit cleaner than cozumel and the port itself was a hotspot to party in! There was no need to leave, plenty of bars, a huge public pool, plenty of shopping and even a dolphin encounter right there! YES! All in the port of Costa Maya! The parties in the port made this day so much fun. As a recomendation, stay in the port on this day, you will have a LOT of fun and save a ton of money.

Such a great port to visit for historical experiences! Yes, it is a pretty dirty port, but it is one to see and experience! The beaches are gorgeous, but the Mayan ruins are extraordinary. The shopping a bit on the expensive side but this is deffinitley a port you do not need to book an excursion for, walking around the city is just as fun and adventurous!

Beach Break

The caymans was so great, we are planning a trip back! We actually want to fly into the caymans and stay for a few days thats how beautiful and fun it was! It is kept up so well, the people are extremely nice, and its one of the most beautiful places ive ever been to! Do excursions, explore this port as much as you can, incuding the beaches and the water, breathtaking!

Stingray Swim

Booked through carnival: Stingray City and Rum Point Beach Best port and best excursion of the whole trip! Stingrays were surrounding me, i was holding massive ones in my arms, and the scariest thing...is that they are wild! It was such an extraordinary time, the ocean is just too beautiful!!! Rum point beach was extremly nice, kept up clean, and the food was great too, but expensive! The beach was gorgeous, but the best part was being all the way at the tip of the caymans. Caymans is now my favorite port, EVER!

Again, this was a place where you deffinitley wanted to stay in port! Coming into Honduras was more than beautiful, it was breathtaking! The mist in the mountains was beautiful, the scenery was green and tropical, maybe a little too tropical! Being 30 miles from the equator has its disadvantages, it was too rainy. But once we got off the ship, the port was beautiful! So many things to do, and it turns out that there is a private beach right within the port that you can either walk to OR take a ski lift to! We wish someone would have told us before we spent all this money to take a 45 minute ride thorugh the mountains of honduras, all the way to Tabyana Beach! Not worth it...the only thing we enojoyed was the ride there and back to see the beautiful scenery. But again, the port was deffinitley the hotspot, and the shopping center was great!Next time we go, zip lining is in the adventure, everyone that zip lined said it was fantastic!
