My husband were looking for a Royal Caribbean Cruise to just chill and enjoy ourselves and this was perfect. Embarkation in Tampa was very easy, very quick and very pleasant. We both thought that the staff was better on this cruise than the last and they were great on our last cruise. (Serenade 03/12)
Our cabin & cabin steward Sammy was great. We had a Junior Suite which was a splurge for us. The cabin and balcony were in great shape, it's just strange to still see the tube tv. Full size bathroom was glorious. I could shave my legs with out falling out of the shower. Probably too much info.
Windjammer was great. Especially for hor's d'oeuvres before late seating. Stopped in about 7 had sushi, cheese and crackers and hubby would usually find 1 or 2 other things that enticed him. Spotlessly clean, great for breakfast and lunch. Wonderful place to people watch. Staff very attentive.
Did the Catamaran to Isla de Passion in Cozumel excursion and had a great More
time. Would recommend it for everyone at every age. Just watch out for the VERY persistent vendors. Days at Sea found us by the pool or in the Solarium.
Our only complaint was with the dinners in the MDR. My husband had 2 dinners that weren't nearly up to par. The tiger shrimp entree looked more like a small appetizer and the seafood mash was more breading than fish. He wasn't impressed with the new menu. We both thought that the appetizers, soups and salads had definitely been improved since our trip in March. Our Waitress and Assistant Waiter were delightful but not in sync. Don't think they had been working together very long.
Enjoyed The Quest, John Bressler was fabulous, music by the pool was cruise music and the pianist is the Schooner bar was terrific. Overall the ship looked great, the staff was outstanding, cabin was great, food was okay and we booked our next cruise while on-board. So after a wild and crazy holiday season it was just what we needed. Less
