the room smelled like a cigar factory every day. Mostly we could ignore it but when you first entered the room you really noticed it. My husband figured out that the ventilation was not working it only gave cold air in but did not pull the stale air out, hence the stale smell. Since neither of us smoke or ever have, we were a little surprised. We did not have this on our first cruise at all but we were not in the back of the boat on that trip either and we were on the Empress deck as well. . We did not mention this to the cabin boy as we felt there was not much that could have been done about it.

Other than that the cruise was great and we had a very relaxing four days. Gilbert was our cabin boy and he was super. Introduced himself on the first day and we were surprised he always knew our names after that. My spouse felt that the Horizon Buffet was better than the main dining room - (Pride) but I thought they were equally good. The breakfast in the Buffet was always great! I would recommend it to anybody. Entertainment was good, we did not go to a lot of it, but the Karaoke was fun, and we were tickled by the Battle of the Sexes show. We noticed that there were many more opportunities for pictures, even on the first night, which I do not think they did a year ago. Last time it was on Elegant night only, and the price has doubled from around $11 to $20 for the 8 x 10's.

We also were surprised that there was a line to get in to the dining room, and figured out that they had split the dining rooms based on type of dining you had requested - since almost all had requested anytime dining, as had we, most of the diners went to the one dining area - causing a line. The ports were fabulous, we had been to Key West a long time ago, but it was still a great place to visit. Cozumel was good, should have researched it better as to what to do there, but all in all a super trip! Still the best "bang" for the buck IMHO.

We were in M250 which is the aft area. This room really needs a good airing out. Smelled like cigar room. We were not under the Casino so I could only assume either a fellow cruiser was smoking next door or the ventilation was really poor. However cabin service was excellent, would recommend Gilbert any day of the week. Not really a noisy location very quiet. Could feel the stabilizers when we came in to port but not annoyingly so. Ship overall was pretty smooth both over and back.
