This will be easy, short and sweet. This was our first cruise ever so didn't know what to expect, Have to say thanks to cruise critic for all the help. Anyway we arrived in Galveston a day early to hang out and unwind for the start of our trip. Received a email from carnival saying the ship will port 8 hours late because of ship issues. Well bad start OK lets deal with it. So the morning we of our trip we headed down to the dock area to eat and have a few cocktails. we were able to drop our luggage off at anytime, so we took it at around noon. finally the ship docked at 3pm. so we decided to make our way over to the terminal.

We made it thru security and got our cards really quick, then had to sit til around 7 to board. Carnival passed out a memo saying we would not be going to Cozumel as planned because of the delay and would dock in progresso. because of the issue would give each passenger a 50 obc. or would refund the whole amount if you didn't want to go. Well we went since we have never been anyway. after we boarded all went very well.our rooms were ready when we boarded and our luggage was already there. the last night they even opened the bar for free drinks because of the problem. so anyway back the the short and sweet part, the food was really good, both in the mdr and buffet. entertainment was good also, the adult comedy was better than then family show, but both funny. it is true that there is tons to do on the ship...never bored. Staff was great all the way around. We did a small excursion a ai in progresso that was fun. even met people i went to school with..the ones i felt bad for were the guest relations people listening to the people complain about the change...all i can say is get over it..but really all in all had a great time. was worth every cent.

Was a great time, there is shopping right at the pair and in town.usual touristy stuff you would expect, but was clean, had free shuttle into town. we booked our excursion in progreso and got a great deal for the beach day. we paid 135.00 for two adults and 3 kids total. the bus ride was good, the lady on the bus told us all about the yucatan. the town was run down but is expected. the bus ride was about twenty minutes. There was a beach, pool, loungers, two bars and food..all included.great music and even had massages on the beach for 20.00 a hour. the food was great authentic Mexican food. plus the drinks were really good, the rum punch was tasty. they also made sure we made it back to the ship on time. took us directly to the ship. all in all a great time. oh and getting on and off the ship was a breeze, no delays at all.
