I jumped on this cruise at the last moment to join some friends, who didnt end up sailing on this cruise due to illness.
My cabin was inside, clean and perfect for one person. Just a shame it was over the anchor, but only had two off shore landings, so not so bad. My previous cruise on Princess was a total disappointment finding it totally for for the US market. But this was more geared to Australian travellers, Vegemite included. Lots of trivia competitions, daily Bingo. The nights entertainment went from good quality to really bad. Best show of the cruise was the staff show on the last night. The quality of the food in the dining rooms was excellent, except for one sitting. Had a bathrobe in my cabin, but I think they are all size 8.. didnt bother to ask for another.
Had lots of issues with my card, kept locking me out of my room and the water in the shower was never hot, but just comfortable enough not to be a cold shower. I dont do any Princess shore excursions, as NZ is easy to research and make your own tours. As per normal, the staff were excellent, but was annoyed by the constant 'on selling' of spa products, photos, CDs of the entertainers. Overall, I enjoyed this cruise travelling solo for the first time and met some fantastic people or was that because they were fellow Aussies...
