we were on the 12/13/2012 cruise. everyone knows the hassels getting on the ship, so i'm not even going to address it. it is what it is. after getting into room, we had a handicapped room, so it was large, went to windjammer for a lunch. Gee! the food was bad from day one. it never got better, never any selection, and it got progressively worse as the days went by. the lunch menu in dining room was almost non-existant so we actually left and went back to windjammer. please someone explain to me why every single menu item has some sort of indian spice attached to it. even roasts that were being sliced had curry spices. yuch! the evening fare was no better. does nobody on this ship know how to cook a piece of beef? even the lobster tails and shrimp were tasteless. if this is the revamped menu what was the old one like? i've been on older RCC ships in the past couple years such as majesty and enchantment, the food was quite decent, i wonder why a ship coming out of new york would have such inferior food. carnival and norwegian were 10 times better.

the service i would say was good. the wait staff and cabin attendants were wonderful. however, i have never been so put off by staff at the front desk as i have by these nasty people. they were rude. i travel with friends. 3 cabins of women friends. we are not couples and as i'm the agent who actually books us, i make it known from the beginning, when i book and in follow ups. please someone tell me the reason on board credit should be a hassel to split. after specifying when booked i went to the desk on day 1 to make sure it had been done. told to come back on day 2, did so, and we were still arguing on day 9. this isn't rocket science. and such attitude.

the entertainment venues were better than i remember. although i don't love ice shows, they were available to those who do enjoy them. good karaoke, and the women piano player was quite good. what i didn't appreciate was the fact that there was no info on what the entertainment actually was for the evening. a general term for comedian, to me is not a juggler. got to the show and a guy is tossing balls in the air. left there quickly. the ventriloquist much the same. put in a blurb on what the entertainment is for the evening.
