Panama Canal Cruise

Sail Date: December 2012
Destination: Panama Canal & Central America
Embarkation: San Diego

Never cruise with celebrity...The positive ... port of calls were great ... getting off the ship was great, visiting so many interesting places was great, cruising the canal was great.

New Years Eve was very entertaining, the celebrity productions were very good, some of the outside entertainers were really good.

The negative ... sea days were absolutely boring ... very little to do of worth while entertainment.

internet was slow and expensive especially since they charge by the minute (in this day and age internet should be free or a one time fee for the cruise).

alcohol is overpriced on the ship

was handed a plate of food at the buffet that nearly burnt my hand because the plate was so hot.

they had signs up warning not to eat undercooked food yet much of the meat was under cooked, i was handed a plate with turkey and there was clearly pink showing, ordered well done steak in restaurant and it had pink showing.

I did not find More the food all that great, the snacks after 9:30 could have been changed every few days instead of pizza every night.

the furniture in public places is dated, uncomfortable, and could use a cleaning. The carpet in state room was dirty and could have used a cleaning.

the indoor public places were cold and the air could have been turned down a notch.

The overall entertainment offered was a D.

Some changes that I would need to see on a cruise ship before I would ever take one again ... a sports bar (during the holiday season with so many bowl games and NFL playoff races), this only makes sense, a games room (with pool tables etc.), improved and more reasonably priced internet, more reasonably priced alcohol, can the disco music (what is it with cruise ships and all inclusive with disco music), there a reason it only was around for a few years, the cruise director and entertainment staff need some better activities during the day.

Overall service was a C.

Lastly getting on the ship was slow and a C.

Getting off was an F.

Overall I'll give this cruise a C ... the port of calls and shore excursion were very good, being on the ship was horrible and extremely boring.

Celebrity cruises will never see my money again. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Century 5063

Very noisy ... creeks and squeaks excessively when the ship is moving, below a card room that open 24/7, can be noise from above at times, carpets dirty.

Port and Shore Excursions

it's Cabo ... enough said

very good port of call ...

Gatun Locks

at this port you need to book an excursion.

don't need to necessarily book an excursion, it's Mexico always something to do.

Monteverde Trainforest

not worth the price ... still very interesting ... you will need to book an excursion at this port of call.
