Wow!!!! That's all I can say about the Diamond Princess! It is a fantastic ship and great people who sail her. We had the best experience on a 14 night cruise from Sydney to Auckland , starting the 14/12/2012.
The crew and staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for the guests on board, we were catered for with everything we needed and well above our expectations. The ship itself is a beautiful ship with The Atrium the opulent focal part of the relaxation of our holiday , with musicians performing, all were highly professional.
Sitting looking out to sea with a few drinks the world couldn't be better. We met some new friends from the U.S as we are Australians and we had a ball getting to know them.
All in all well worth every cent we paid, and great value for money.
Just a couple small criticisms: was the very thin toilet paper onboard, Princess needs to lift the quality of that. With the high level of hygiene on board that let the side down. And the staff needs to know how to make good italian espresso coffee for Australians, maybe it was the blend they use but both me and my wife and other Australians on board couldn't wait to get ashore to get a decent cup of espresso coffee.
With those minor criticisms it was a wonderful experience and we will cruise with Princess Cruises again.
