Ship Facts: Monarch of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Monarch of the Seas Deck Plans
Pleasantly surprised!
I've always thought cruising would make me claustrophobic and wouldn't live up to expectations......nonetheless, the low prices and lure of warm weather convinced me to book this cruise for me, my 75 year old mom and my two kids (11 and 7). It was so much better than I had imagined.

We booked two adjacent rooms with a door in-between --was a fantastic layout once we asked to have the beds separated into twins (gave us so much more room, as well as helping us have our own space).

We tried almost everything on board --trivia! the casino! all dining spaces! Shows! Contests! I was in a lyric game show (almost won!), my 7 year old just loved, loved, loved the kids area and begged to be there as much as I would let him.......the food was pretty darn good --our nightly waitstaff (Uma, Chris) were exceptional.

In Nassau, we took a $1 city bus to the fantastic Ardastra Gardens where both my kids were in the show with the flamingos and we really enjoyed all of the animals --we were disappointed that we couldn't tender to Cocoa Cay but understood the water was too rough. Overall, it was the best 'intro to cruising' that I expected --we'll be booking more for sure!
