My Wife and I decided to try this new ship. Boarding was easy as we passed regular cruisers in the VIFP line and got on the ship in 10 minutes. The food was great on the ship. The buffet was good but always very busy. The Red Frog beer was good and so was the snacks offered for $3.33 .
The only negative comment about the cruise was how rough it was sailing out of Galveston. The day and night sailing back was no better with high winds and seas. Our room was 7235 FWD Portside. The waves crashed against the side of the ship making it very difficult to sleep with 90kmh winds and sea spray that reached our balcony. Montego bay is a poor place to visit.
At the port there is little to see other than the port terminal with 4 stores in it and a bar. The shops next to the terminal are no longer in use and empty. You have no choice but to take a cab downtown to see more.
The last day of the cruise we had to vacate our room at 830 am so it could be cleaned. The buffet More was packed and the Southern Lights restaurant had a lineup. We were given tags #3 and had to leave the ship at 9 am. Our flight to Toronto was not until 520 pm. It was obvious someone goofed. We will never sail out of that port again or across the Gulf of Mexico due to the rough seas. Also the store on the ship had a small amount of liquor available. They were out of Tequila 2 days before end of cruise so we ended up buying it at the airport. Less
