We decided to take a quick getaway at the last minute, and we decided to sail on the Monarch of the Seas.
Embarkation could not have been any smoother, and quicker. As soon as we checked in, and received our ship cards, we were boarding the ship. Older ship with a lot of class, and style.
The food was very good, and the selections were good. Now the drawbacks to our cruise. Twice we had to call about the toilet, which backed up, and would not flush, and one time it got very close to running over. The sink also clogged up once, and the water pressure in the bathroom was not that great, especially in the sink.
The other incident that burns me was when boarding in Nassau, my wife left one bag of souvenir's in the plastic bin at the security checkpoint, which also contained my items, and another bag. She handed me my items, and took one of the bags, but forgot o grab the other plastic bag. WE went upstairs for about 2-3 minutes, and realized that one bag was left at security, so we went right back down to retrieve it. Well here is the issues with this. We get there, and my wife explains that she left one bag in the bin, and the security guard who looks down on the floor at a bag that looks similar to the one we left, says that he did not see it, and then proceeds to check the x-ray machine to see if t got stuck inside. No luck with that, and now they tell us that if it turns up they will turn it into at guest relations which has the lost and found, and they advise us to check at guest relations, which we did several times, and later that evening. Now we realize that someone could have picked it up, but some of the items were personalized, and we remember seeing a similar bag on the floor near the security personnel. Guest relations never even asked for our names just in case the bag turned up, or was turned in, nor did seem to even be concerned, because we said it contained souvenir's, and clothing. I would rather not say what I, and my wife believe happened to our bag, but the way they seem to not show any interest is really baffling.
All in all, I would not say that this was a bad cruise for a short 4 day getaway, as we really did enjoy ourselves, but the other incidents could put a bit of a damper on a cruise vacation, and since we already had booked another upcoming cruise with Royal Carib, we will be interested to see how that one goes, as we are looking forward to a great cruise.
