A disappointment: Legend of the Seas Cruise Review by luvscorgis

Embarkation was easy and we originally booked a balcony cabin but we were happily upgraded to a junior suite. Overall the ship is old and worn. Our cabin was nice but mismatched furniture, chipped walls, and worn carpeting made it feel shabby. Our cabin steward was wonderful as was most personnel on the ship.
Our disappointment came about because this particular cruise was very family oriented, with many young children running around unattended. As we are older, we make it a point to More cruise on 'off family seasons' so you can understand our dismay. None of this was mentioned in this review. The reviewer said the many of the cruisers tended to be British nationals, in actuality the majority were Singaporeans and Chinese speaking people. During one act in the theater, we could not understand because he spoke Chinese to the crowd without translating into English.
Another disappointment was the food. Whether in the main dining room or the Windjammer, the food was mediocre at best, compared to our experiences on Princess, Celebrity, and Norwegian. Because there are no specialty restaurants on this ship, the main dining room had items such as lobster and surf and turf you can order for an additional fee. Of course on Christmas Eve, we did get lobster as a choice for dinner, without additional charge.
Disembarkation was great. This one thing I hear about Royal Caribbean that they have their embarkation and disembarkation down pat. We were off the ship and in a taxi to go home in 15 minutes.
Overall the personnel on the ship was great and we met some very nice people. The itinerary was good, Malaysia and Thailand. We only took an excursion in Phuket, Thailand and that was nice. This cruise was not what we expected but we chalk it up to learning experience. Less
