First of all, SHAME ON R.C.C.L. for not disclosing what we were getting into with this cruise. We paid a good amount of money for our J.S. and experienced the worse cruise we have ever encountered! Even worse then Carnival! We cruise Dec. 9-16th out of Puerto Rico on the Adventure. Everything went smooth boarding the ship itself. But then things fell apart pretty fast..............
Out of 3400 guests, 2800 were Puerto Ricans that were offered screaming "Resident"rates (we found this out when we got on the ship from the Staff).
The ship (Adventure) was old and our room was dirty. Our room attendant only said "hello" to us three days into the cruise and that was the last we ever saw of her until the last day when she yelled at us. We were able to stay in our room until 10:30 a.m......she yelled at us and told us we were holding her up from cleaning the room!!!!!!! Then we realized she had taken costume jewelry that I bought and placed in our T-Shirt bags in the carry on to come home. I called R.C.C.L. and they filed a report but told us..........that is all we can do.........sorry! SO.................the cruise sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so disappointed in R.C.C.L. and the poor service. They catered to the Puerto Ricans big time! Usually around the pool you hear the steel drums or Caribbean music. On our cruise the music around the pool was all Latino/P.R. music. The band that played for dancing was Salsa EVERY NIGHT! Royal Caribbean obviously did not care about the other non P.R. guests. These people would intentionally cut in front of you, walk into you if you did not move for them and more. The entire cruise was Spanish speaking! Our waiter even informed us that we needed to get up early for breakfast at the Windjammer as the P.R.'s party all night and will invade the Windjammer after 9 am and we will NEVER find a seat. Boy was he right.........
We are disappointed that Royal Caribbean Cruise Line does not disclose a "Resident" Time for cruising. We are Emerald Level cruisers and cant share enough of our disappointment.
On a positive note :) We swam with the Sea Lions on St. Thomas and it had to be the most incredible thing we have ever done. We have swam with dolphin, Stingray, shark and Sea Turtles but this was amazing! Do it if you have the chance at Coral World!!
We will NEVER cruise out of P.R. again.
