First of all, Carnival does not do a very good job of describing the departure port or parking area. The parking is in an old warehouse a few blocks from the ship. There are Charleston police blocking a lot of the roads into the parking lot but they did not give us good directions around the roadblocks so we got lost several times. When we finally were directed into the parking area there is a checkpoint where the luggage is taken. We only had carry-on but were told by the baggage handler that all luggage would be taken at that checkpoint - this is not true. You are allowed carry-on luggage and if you are bringing wine onboard you can only do so in your carry-on.
We arrived at the parking area 6 hours before we sailed and it took about an hour to get through security and check-in which was pretty fast. Once we were onboard we were directed to one of the buffets for lunch. The food was plentiful and not bad. The way it was handled by the people preparing it and the way it was More
carried to the different serving areas was not sanitary and there are no sneeze guards for the salards or desserts. The coffee machines dispensed coffee with a strange, metallic taste and there were onoly lemonaide and tea dispensers, no Coke or Pepsi products, of course those were sold from the bars.
The first day my wife grabbed one of the rum drinks from the pool-side servers, it had no alcohol in it at all and was over $8. The next day I noticed those same drinks were prepared then stored in large, plastic containers. I bought one, took a sip and told the bartender there was no liquor in it so she added some. What a rip-off!!!
The food in the Celebration dining room was pretty good even though it took a lot longer to be served and by the time the main courses were served they were no longer hot.
Whenever we were near the pool we were breathing cigar and cigarette smoke, it was almost impossible to find an area where we could see the poolside entertainment and no be breathing someone's smoke - yuck!!!
Our cabin had an adjoining suite next to it with a door right at the head of the bed and it was so noisy I tried to reposition the bed against the opposite wall.
